MoviesOnline has put out a sizable Q&A (3200 words) with WALL-E sound designer Ben Burtt (famous for his work on the Star Wars films), where he talks at length about the sound design process on the movie and other related topics. It's actually quite interesting to learn how the different sounds heard are created...

Didn't read all of it, of course, but Marvel Entertainment sure could have used Ben Burtt in their production of the Incredible Hulk. And even more so, as a director for the sound track as a whole. Sound track for the Hulk was more like a suspense filled Alfred Hitchcock movie. It just didn't fit. I wonder if Ben would be interested in working on a Super Hero movie?
postnote: the unscrewing of the hatch on the Martian spaceship in the movie "War of the Worlds", was produced by screwing and unscrewing a Mason jar inside a Toilet Bowl!
Well, Burtt is not a composer. His work is only on the sound effects.
lookig forward to seeing finished thing
