Upcoming Pixar is reporting a title for the extra short film that is to be included on the WALL-E DVD/Blu-ray (besides Presto, of course): BURN-E.The unconfirmed tip came from a Pixar Planet member who claims to be part of the WALL-E orchestra team, which is said to have just recently finished recording the music of BURN-E.
As can be expected, no details are yet available on the short, except that it will (duh!) follow a robot named BURN-E. However, speaking earlier this week with Peter Sciretta of /Film, Andrew Stanton did say that the WALL-E DVD short would indeed have a sci-fi theme and be "very connected" to WALL-E's story.
I will be seeking comment from Pixar Publicity on this story as soon as possible. Stay tuned...

If they end up saying "no comment" then you know it's true. Other insiders have mentioned BURN-E on their websites as well...

Interesting to note the "E" (Earth) extension on BURN•E's name. That would mean that WALL•E was not, in fact, the last robot on earth. : )
Burn-E is the welder robot who works outside of the Axiom.
