IMDb lists Monsters, Inc 2

The Internet Movie Database (IMDB) is formally listing Monsters, Inc. 2 as being in development at Pixar for a target release year of 2012, essentially authenticating the heretofore unconfirmed claims (here, here, here, and my very favourite here) about the film's production.

The subscription-only IMDb Pro gives the project status as "Pitch" with Monsters, Inc. and Up director Pete Docter as director of the sequel. Docter and Andrew Stanton (currently working on John Carter of Mars, officially a Disney project) are listed as writers.

Despite considering 2013 as more likely, the 2012 target could certainly turn out to be correct if Pixar plans to make two films a year (first to be tried in 2011 with Cars 2 and The Bear and the Bow). This would mean that 'Monsters 2' would be released in the later part of the year, probably in November like the original.

Eventually, they have to put out an official release. Especially now that pretty much everyone knows about it. Regardless, I'm totally psyched to hang out with Mike and Sully for another two hours of my life. Although I find it hard to believe that Andrew Stanton is going to cowrite the script. I mean, he's going to be swamped with John Carter until 2012.

IMDB is not always correct, as it will display submissions from anyone without verifying them.

Unless you hear it from a real creditable source, take this one with a grain of salt. Sure, it'll probably happen eventually, but don't get too excited about it just because IMDB shows it.

i think they're starting to make 2 movies a year to be able to make one sequel a year, but still satisfy fans that want something new !

You know if Pixar decide to run 2 movies a year with at least ONE original film I may finally agree to MI2.

Toy Story 3 is the beginning of an end to the Pixar force, or will it be the end of an era to start something even more incredible?

Cars 2 and The Bear and the Bow, MI2 and Newt. If it's true then it's so exciting, never have we had 4 Pixar films in 2 years!

And 1906 and JCOM, even listed Disney or WB, they still have the Pixar touch.

Hey Mike, do you report JCOM and 1906 news too? I see that Upcoming Pixar doesn't.

Jimmy: Blue Sky Disney is your best resource for John Carter, and no one is reporting on 1906 as there is no news on it.

I believe 1906 has been pushed back to as far as 2012. When there is information on it, we will report it, as we cover a wide variety of movies.

Will there be a WALL*E 2 out on 2014 Soon or no

There might be a WALL-E sequel, considering its success, but if there is, probably 2015. As for the Incredibles 2...

Brad Bird mentioned that he had some ideas, but they would not be worked on until 1906 was finished. So, like that, 2015 again. That might be a full sequel year for Pixar, which may be bad news for some of you.
